Nominations and applications

 

1) Implementation of Blended Learning courses

The aim of the competition: active professors’ involvement in creating new forms of a study process

Requirements:
the method used for teaching classes might be created within a course that is a part of a study plan. In this category applications describing implementation of the following methods can participate in the competition:

  • with online resources from the HSE base;

  • with online resources outside from the HSE base;

  • including teaching courses for non-major audiences (дисциплины общего цикла): history, psychology, law, sociology, philosophy, economics.


Who can apply:
permanent professors and employees of HSE and its campuses, teaching on the basis of internal secondary employment of no less than a 0,25-time job

Description in the application should be the following
:

  • a general idea and aim of the classes taught based on the described method;
  • a plan of the classes;
  • ways of communication with students;
  • feedback organisation from students;
  • assessment and elements of cumulative marking.

Any additional material can be added to the description.

2) Creation and implementation of DataCulture courses (BA level)

The aim of the competitionprofessors’ involvement in creating courses that include classes on Data Culture or fully devoted to the field. This competition is organised with the project Data Culture participation https://www.hse.ru/dataculture.

Requirements:
courses accomplished in the 2078-2019 academic years and added to future study plans can take part in the competition

Who can apply: permanent professors and employees of HSE and its campuses, teaching on the basis of internal secondary employment of no less than a 0,25-time job. All the applicants might have an approval (a visa) from the head of the department where the course is being taught, and an approval from the head of the educational programme, where the course was being taught

Attention please

  • “zero level” courses are not regarded in this competition as they do not build the competencies in accordance with Data Culture
  • among “base level” courses only those are regarded that refer to point 2 and 3 of the level description (that is, mathematics courses are not regarded);
  • description of the method used in classes;
  • description of the form and content of home assignments;
  • description of the material and resources used in the course;
  • opportunities to motivate students while teaching the course;
  • feedback organisation from students;
  • a brief analysis of successfulness of the course and renovation plans (if there are any);

3) Practices of implementation of project based learning

The aim of the competition: the aim of the competition: identification of the best practices of project based learning

Requirements: the practices’ description should be within a course that is a part of a study plan

Who can apply: permanent professors and employees of HSE and its campuses, teaching on the basis of internal secondary employment of no less than a 0,25-time job

Description in the application should be the following:

  • a plan of the classes;
  • ways of communication with students;
  • feedback organisation;
  • assessment and elements of cumulative marking;
  • classes teaching method description;
  • any other practices.

Any additional material can be added to the description.

4) Practices in teaching minor courses

The aim of the competition: identification of the best practices of teaching minor courses

Requirements: the practices’ description should be within a course that is a part of a study plan


Who can apply: permanent professors and employees of HSE and its campuses, teaching on the basis of internal secondary employment of no less than a 0,25-time job

Description in the application should be the following

  • a plan of the classes;
  • ways of communication with students;
  • feedback organisation;
  • assessment and elements of cumulative marking;
  • classes teaching method description;
  • any other practices.


Any additional material can be added to the description

5) Free category

The aim of the competition: identification of the best practices that do not apply to other categories

Requirements: the practices’ description should be within a course that is a part of a study plan

Who can apply: permanent professors and employees of HSE and its campuses, teaching on the basis of internal secondary employment of no less than a 0,25-time job

Description in the application should be the following

  • a plan of the classes;
  • ways of communication with students;
  • feedback organisation;
  • assessment and elements of cumulative marking;
  • classes teaching method description;
  • any other practices.


Any additional material can be added to the description.

 

 

In order to apply for one of the nominations, you have to fill in the application form available here.

Please attach the description to the fulfilled form with no less than 3 but no more than 10 pages (for Data Culture nomination please fulfill a special form).
